MUARA, Saturday 23 March 2013 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) today marks another memorable moment by welcoming a visit by the Chief of Naval Staff Pakistan Navy, Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila with delegations at the Royal Brunei Navy Headquarters.
Upon arrival at Royal Brunei Navy headquarters, Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila was accorded with a Guard of Honour mounted by personnel from the Royal Brunei Navy. After reviewing the Guard of Honour, Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila proceeded to pay a courtesy call to First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Halim bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Commander of Royal Brunei Navy.
Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila was accompanied by the Principal Secretary Officer to the Chief Naval Staff, Commodore Mirza Foad. Also present were the Deputy Commander of RBN and RBN senior officers.
During the call, both sides also had the opportunity to exchange views on the current development between both navies and to explore areas of naval cooperation as well as training. Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila also had the chance to visit one of the DARUSSALAM Class, KDB DARULEHSAN and was welcomed by the ship’s Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel (L) Shamsul Bahren bin Haji Taweh. Onboard, the Admiral was given a short briefing by the ship officer on the ship’s roles and responsibilities and followed by a tour of the ship.
Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila and spouse, as well as delegates will be in Brunei Darussalam for a four-day introductory visit. During the stay the admiral and spouse will also visit most of the places of interest in Brunei Darussalam.
