BOLKIAH GARRISON, Thursday, 26 November 2015– The Deputy Minister of Defence, First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit received an introductory call at the Ministry of Defence from Commodore Jawad Ahmed, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s accredited Defence Adviser to Brunei Darussalam, who is residing in Kuala Lumpur.

During the courtesy call, both sides discussed on regional issues, current affairs and their commitment to strengthening the existing bilateral defence relation through exchange of visits, trainings and courses and also promoting dialogue between defence and military officials through the Joint Defence Working Committee.

Brunei Darussalam had established a diplomatic relation with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on the 9 February 1984, and the Memorandum of Understanding was binded on 19 May 2004 in Pakistan. This year marks the 31st Anniversary of our diplomatic relations. Over the years, Brunei Darussalam and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s defence bilateral relationship has been improved tremendously and will continue exploring for more improvements.
