BOLKIAH GARRISON, Wednesday 26 October 2016 – The Deputy Minister of Defence, First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit today received an introductory call from Mr W. Patrick Murphy, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Southeast Asia, Bureau of East Asia and Pacific Affairs, US Department of State.
During the call, The Deputy Assistant Secretary reassured that the US is committed to sustain close and friendly relations with countries in the region including Brunei Darussalam, particularly in the transition period from current US Administration to the next. Both sides also expressed their pleasure of the good state of bilateral defence relations and the ongoing collaboration that have contributed to the advancement of various practical cooperative frameworks such as the ADMM-Plus, WPNS and CARAT.
The Deputy Assistant Secretary of State was accompanied by the Ambassador of the US to Brunei Darussalam, His Excellency Craig Boyd Allen.
KUNJUNGAN PENGENALAN DARI TIMBALAN PENOLONG SETIAUSAHA NEGARA BAGI ASIA TENGGARA, JABATAN NEGARA, AS
BOLKIAH GARISON, Rabu 26 Oktober 2016 – Timbalan Menteri Pertahanan Negara Brunei Darussalam, Laksamana Pertama (B) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, hari ini menerima kunjungan pengenalan dari Tuan W. Patrick Murphy, Timbalan Penolong Setiausaha Negara bagi Asia Tenggara, Biro Hal Ehwal Asia Timur dan Pasifik, Jabatan Negara AS.
Semasa kunjungan tersebut, Timbalan Penolong Setiausaha telah menyuarakan komitmen Amerika Syarikat untuk meneruskan hubungan rapat dan mesra bersama negara-negara di rantau tersebut termasuk Negara Brunei Darussalam, khususnya ketika tempoh peralihan pentadbiran AS ini kepada kepada yang akan datang.
Kedua-dua pihak turut melahirkan rasa gembira di atas hubungan pertahanan dua hala yang baik dan kerjasama berterusan yang telah menyumbang kepada perkembangan pelbagai rangkakerja kerjasama praktikal termasuk ADMM-Plus, WPNS dan CARAT.
Turut menyertai bersama Timbalan Penolong Setiausaha Negara di kunjungan pengenalan itu ialah Duta Besar Istimewa dan Mutlak Amerika Syarikat ke Negara Brunei Darussalam, Tuan Yang Terutama Craig Boyd Allen.
