​RIMBA AIR FORCE BASE, ROYAL BRUNEI AIR FORCE, Wednesday, 31 May 2023 – His Majesty Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to attend the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) 62nd Anniversary Celebration Grand Parade, which was held at the Rimba Air Force Base, Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) today.

Accompanying His Majesty to the celebration were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik; and His Royal Highness 920 Major (Udara) Prince ‘Abdul Mateen. 


The arrival of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of
Brunei Darussalam at the Rimba Air Force Base was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof,
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II; and Yang Mulia Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander RBAF. 


Upon arrival, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of
Brunei Darussalam was ushered to
the RBAirF Sports Complex, accorded the Royal Salute and consented to inspect the Guard of Honour comprising 931 personnel from the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) along with the bearers of His Majesty’s and the RBAF’s Royal regimental flags, Special Forces Regiment (SFR), Women Military Personnel, combined of RBAF Band and RBLF Pipes and Drums as well as RBAF vehicles and assets, commanded by Lieutenant Colonel (U) Muhammad Walee bin Haji Roslie. 


The parade then proceeded with the slow and fast march-past carrying His Majesty’s and the RBAF’s Royal regimental flags, followed by ‘advance in review order’. His Majesty then delivered a Titah
to commemorate the RBAF 62nd Anniversary Celebration. This was followed by three chants of “Daulat Kebawah Duli Tuan Patik” from the RBAF Grand Parade, which was presented to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan Brunei Darussalam. 


To bless the RBAF’s Anniversary Celebration, a Doa was recited by Commander Haji Ainolnizam bin Haji Ibrahim, RBN, Director of the RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT). 


His Majesty once again received the Royal Salute, followed by a fly-past of RBAirF Blackhawk and CN-235 aircrafts. Following the fly-past, His Majesty and members of the Royal Family then proceeded to Hangar ‘B’ Military Apron to view the Static Exhibition of Military Capabilities from RBAF using Light Tactical All-Terrain Vehicle (LT-ATV). 


His Majesty and members of the Royal Family also consented to witness a live static airborne demonstration performed by 31 personnel from 31st Squadron RBAirF and SFR, led by Captain Ali Saufi bin Haji Ali Safian, Officer Commanding 31st Squadron RBAirF. 


His Majesty and members of the Royal Family then viewed an exhibition of static displays presented by the Ministry of Defence’s Directorate of Development and Work Services, as well as the
newly acquired capabilities of the RBLF, RBN and SFR. During the visit, His Majesty officiated the Fleet Tactical Aircraft Squadron, RBN. 


Subsequently, His Majesty and members of the Royal Family visited the military aircraft display featuring aircrafts from the RBAirF along with the Indonesian Air Force (TNI-AU), Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), Philippines Air Force (PAF), Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), Royal Air Force, United Kingdom (RAF), Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) and United States Air Force (USAF). The involvement of friendly countries in jointly enlivening the RBAF Anniversary Celebration this year reflects the strong and close relationship of professionalism and defence diplomacy that exists between the RBAF with regional and international partners, especially in maintaining peace and security in the region.


His Majesty and members of the Royal Family then viewed the Defence Industries Exhibition, which involved companies from international defence industries of the United States, Australia, People’s Republic of China, Republic of Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Federal Republic of Germany, Kingdom of Spain, Republic of Singapore and the Kingdom. The Defence Industry Static Exhibition features the latest technology that can assist RBAF in its efforts to develop capabilities and strengthen the nation’s defence.


His Majesty was then introduced to officers and personnel who had recently completed their mission in the Independent Decommissioning Body Verification, Monitoring, and Assistance Team (IDB VMAT) 4/2022
in Republic of Philippines and United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) with the Malaysian Battalion (MALBATT) in Lebanon followed by a photo session. 


His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam, as well as members of the Royal Family then proceeded to Hangar ‘B’ for the Royal Luncheon. 


Upon arrival, His Majesty and members of the Royal Family were invited for a group photo with former Deputy Ministers of Defence and former Commanders of the RBAF, together with officers and other ranks of the RBAF.
His Majesty was then introduced to RBAF personnel who took part in the Coronation Ceremony of His Majesty King Charles III, King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland; international course participants joining the All Arms Staff and Tactic Course (AASTC) at School of Infantry (SOI), RBLF and those currently enrolled in the Command Staff Course at the Defence Academy RBAF; foreign cadets who are undergoing Officer Cadet Training Intake 22 at the Officer Cadet School (OCS); and Defence Advisors/Attaches of friendly countries to Brunei Darussalam including those accredited and residing abroad.


Finally, His Majesty and members of the Royal Family then proceeded to grace the Cake Cutting Ceremony and were presented with a pesambah by RBAF officers and personnel. This was followed by a recitation of Doa Selamat by Commander Haji Ainolnizam bin Haji Ibrahim, RBN, Director of JAMA’AT, to bless the Royal Luncheon. 


The theme of this year’s RBAF celebration, “Together Accomplishing the National Vision,” reflects the involvement and appreciation of RBAF as a thriving and dominant national security organisation, practicing its core values and united in supporting the Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) and further succeeding and supporting the country’s vision towards Wawasan Negara 2035, by constantly improving defence capabilities and defence diplomacies to preserve and protect the country’s sovereignty.

PANGKALAN TENTERA UDARA RIMBA, TENTERA UDARA DIRAJA BRUNEI, Rabu, 31 Mei 2023 – Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam, hari ini berkenan berangkat ke Upacara Perbarisan Raksasa Sambutan Hari Ulang Tahun (HUT) Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB) ke-62 di
Pangkalan Tentera Udara Rimba, Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB).


Mengiringi keberangkatan Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia ialah Paduka-Paduka Anakanda, Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, Menteri Kanan di Jabatan Perdana Menteri; Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Malik; dan Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri 920 Mejar (Udara) Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Mateen.

Menteri di Jabatan Perdana Menteri dan Menteri Pertahanan II; dan Yang Mulia Mejar Jeneral Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Pemerintah ABDB.
