BOLKIAH GARRISON, Thursday, 24 October 2019 – Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Second Minister of Defence received a courtesy call from His Excellency Air Vice Marshal (Retired) Mahmud Hussain, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Brunei Darussalam this morning.
During the call, both sides expressed satisfaction upon the cordial relations between Brunei Darussalam and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and also looked forward to attain continued progress in the bilateral relations between the two countries especially in the area of defence.
Cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in the field of defence has been progressing at a satisfactory pace over the years through activities such as exchange of visits and courses as well as interactions through regional meetings.
His Excellency presented his Letter of Credence to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on 15 February 2017.

Air Vice Marshal (Bersara) Mahmud Hussain, Pesuruhjaya Tinggi Bangladesh ke Brunei Darussalam pada pagi ini.
Semasa kunjungan tersebut, kedua-dua pihak menyatakan rasa puas hati atas hubungan dua hala di antara Brunei Darussalam dan Republik Rakyat Bangladesh. Yang Berhormat Menteri Pertahanan Kedua dan Tuan Yang Terutama berharap untuk mencapai kemajuan yang berterusan dalam hubungan dua hala di antara kedua-dua negara terutama sekali dalam bidang pertahanan.
Hubungan pertahanan antara Brunei Darussalam dan Republik Rakyat Bangladesh berada pada tahap yang baik melalui aktiviti-aktiviti seperti pertukaran lawatan dan kursus serta interaksi-interaksi melalui mesyuarat-mesyuarat pada peringkat serantau.
Tuan Yang Terutama telah menyembahkan Surat Watikah Pelantikan Kehadapan Majlis Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam pada 15 Februari 2017.
