RIMBA AIR FORCE BASE, Tuesday 17 May 2016 – The Official Handover Ceremony of the new Surau at Rimba Air Force Base was held at the project site this morning.
The event was officiated with the mock key presentation by the guest of honour, Awang Abu Sufian bin Haji Ali, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Defence Policy and Development), Ministry of Defence to Colonel (U) Hj Hamsani bin Hj Abd Hamid, Deputy Commander of Royal Brunei Air Force.
Also present during this event were the Director of Development and Work Services (DDWS), Ministry of Defence, Hajah Marliyana Bte Hj Abdullah Fung, as well as officers and staff of DDWS and Royal Brunei Air Force.
The ceremony commenced with the recital of surah Al Fatihah by the Royal Brunei Air Force Religious Teacher, Ustaz Haji Othman bin Mohd Noor. This was followed by the exchange of keys from the contractor Noracon Sdn Bhd, to the Director of Development and Work Services whom then presented the keys to the guest of honour. Finally the Guest of Honour handed the keys to the Deputy Commander of Royal Brunei Air Force as the enduser. The ceremony concluded with a doa selamat and then a tour of the new Surau by the guests.
The newly constructed surau is a project undertaken by the Directorate of Development and Work Services for personnel of the Air Force Base able to worship and pray in congregation. The surau is also open for use by the public through a proper security procedure.
The surau covers a floor area of approximately 778 square metres and has a full capacity of 600 people. The building architecture was designed with a modern Islamic concept. The facilities in the Surau are the Imam Office, Bilal Office, Female Toilet Ablution, Male Toilet Ablution, Female Prayer Area, Jenazah Room and the Main Prayer Hall. A parking area for 34 cars is also provided.
The main contractor for the surau project was Noracon Sdn Bhd; Architect, Quantity Surveyor, Mechanical and Electrical by Development Project Section, Directorate of Development and Work Services, Ministry of Defence, Civil and Structure Consultant by Associated Consultants Sdn Bhd.
MAJLIS PENYERAHAN SURAU BARU PANGKALAN TENTERA UDARA RIMBA
PANGKALAN RIMBA, Selasa 17 Mei 2016 – Majlis Penyerahan Rasmi Surau baru Pangkalan Tentera Udara Rimba telah diadakan di tapak projek pagi ini.
Upacara ini telah dirasmikan dengan penyerahan replika kunci oleh tetamu kehormat, Awang Abu Sufian bin Haji Ali, Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap (Dasar Pertahanan dan Pembangunan), Kementerian Pertahanan kepada Kolonel (U) Hj Hamsani bin Hj Abd Hamid, Timbalan Pemerintah Tentera udara Diraja Brunei.
Turut hadir pada majlis ini ialah Pengarah Pembangunan dan Perkhidmatan Kerja (JPPK), Kementerian Pertahanan, Hajah Marliyana Bte Hj Abdullah Fung, serta pegawai-pegawai dan kakitangan JPPK dan Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei.
Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan surah Al Fatihah oleh Guru Ugama Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei, Ustaz Haji Othman bin Mohd Noor. Ini diikuti dengan pertukaran kunci daripada kontraktor Noracon Sdn. Bhd. kepada Pengarah Pembangunan dan Perkhidmatan Kerja yang seterusnya menyampaikan kunci kepada tetamu kehormat. Kemudiannya, Tetamu Kehormat menyerahkan kunci tersebut kepada pengguna iaitu Timbalan Pemerintah Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei. Majlis diakhiri dengan doa selamat dan kemudiannya para tetamu dibawa melawat ke Surau baru ini.
Surau yang baru siap dibina ini adalah projek yang dilaksanakan oleh Jabatanarah Pembangunan dan Perkhidmatan Kerja bagi anggota-anggota di Pangkalan Tentera Udara agar mereka dapat beribadah dan bersolat berjemaah. Surau ini juga dibuka untuk digunakan oleh orang ramai dengan melalui prosedur keselamatan yang betul.
Surau ini meliputi kawasan seluas kira-kira 778 meter pesegi dan mempunyai kapasiti penuh untuk 600 orang. Bentuk bangunannya telah direka mengikut konsep moden Islam. Kemudahan terdapat di surau ini adalah Pejabat Imam, Pejabat Bilal, Tandas dan Tempat Berwudu’ Perempuan, Tandas dan Tempat Berwudu’ Lelaki, Tempat Sembahyang Wanita, Bilik Jenazah dan Dewan Sembahyang Utama. Kawasan tempat letak kenderaan untuk 34 kereta juga disediakan.
Kontraktor utama bagi projek surau ini ialah Noracon Sdn Bhd; Arkitek, Juruukur Bahan, Mekanikal dan Elekrik oleh Bahagian Pembangunan Projek, Jabatanarah Pembangunan dan Perkhidmatan Kerja, Kementerian Pertahanan; Perunding Sivil dan Struktur oleh Associated Consultants Sdn Bhd.
