SUNGAI AKAR CAMP, Saturday 7 Dec 2013 – Defence Academy, Royal Brunei Armed Forces welcomed a visit by His Excellency Major General TNI Sumardi, Governor of Military Academy Indonesian Army and delegation from 5th – 8th December 2013 at Sungai Akar Camp.

Upon arrival, His Excellency Major General TNI Sumardi was received by Colonel Haji Abdul Hadi bin Haji Saim, the Commandant of Defence Academy and other senior officers from Defence Academy. During the visit, the delegation paid a courtesy call to the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin.

Exchange of views on the development and progress of the respective armed forces as well as other areas of cooperation related to training was discussed during the courtesy call.

A brief on the roles and organisation of Defence Academy was presented to the visiting delegation at the Sungai Akar Camp, where they had the opportunity to visit the facilities of the Command and Staff College (CSC) and Officer Cadet School (OCS). The delegation also paid a visit to the Training Institute where they had a closer look at the Evolution Centre, Simulation Centre and FIBUA Village. Moreover, the visit also covers visits to various tourist attractions and cultural sites such as Kampong Ayer and Royal Regalia.

With this visit, the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Defence Academy and the Tentera Nasional Indonesia Military Academy have reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the existing relations for the development and training of their respective officers in the near future.
