MUARA, Monday, 28 May 2017 – A foreign fishing vessel carrying thirty-six (36) fishermen onboard was seized by the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) ship KDB DARUTTAQWA on Saturday, 27 May 2018.
The vessel was illegally fishing in Brunei waters approximately 128 nautical miles from the coast of Brunei Darussalam. The RBN apprehended the fishermen and handed them to the Marine Police, Royal Brunei Police Force, in the presence of a representative from the Fisheries Department.
This is the first illegal fishing vessel captured by RBN this year. Last year, there was a total of eight foreign fishing vessels apprehended.
KAPAL NELAYAN ASING DITANGKAP MENGERJAKAN PENANGKAPAN IKAN SECARA HARAM
MUARA, Isnin, 28 Mei 2018 – Sebuah kapal nelayan asing yang membawa seramai tiga puluh enam (36) nelayan telah ditahan oleh Kapal Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB) KDB DARUTTAQWA pada hari Ahad, 27 Mei 2018.
Kapal tersebut itu sedang menjalankan penangkapan ikan secara haram di perairan Brunei, kira-kira 128 batu nautika dari persisiran pantai Negara Brunei Darussalam. Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei telah menangkap nelayan-nelayan itu dan menyerahkan mereka kepada Polis Marin, Pasukan Polis Diraja Brunei, dengan kehadiran perwakilan dari Jabatan Perikanan.
Ini adalah kapal nelayan asing pertama yang telah ditahan oleh TLDB pada tahun ini. Pada tahun lalu, lapan buah kapal telah ditangkap.
