SINGAPORE, Tuesday 4 December 2012 – Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Jofri bin Haji Abdullah, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force, called on His Excellency Dr Ng Eng Hen, Minister of Defence Singapore this afternoon.
Upon arrival at the Ministry of Defence, Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Jofri inspected a Guard of Honour mounted by personnel from Provost Singapore Armed Force. This was then followed by a farewell call to the Chief of Air Force, Major General General Ng Chee Meng. Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Jofri, who is in Singapore on a farewell visit from 2-4 December 2012.
The visit by Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Jofri underlines the close defence ties between Republic of Singapore and Brunei Darussalam. Under Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Jofri’s leadership, professional interactions between the Singapore Air Force and the Royal Brunei Air Forces have grown in scope and complexity. Both forces engage regularly in a wide range of professional exchanges and bilateral exercise such as Air Guard Exercise. These extensive interactions have enhanced the cooperation and professionalism of the two air forces through military training and exercises, exchange of information on matters pertaining to security, training and defence products, as well as exchange of visits between the respective defence and military officials.
