PERAK, MALAYSIA, Friday 7 December 2012 – Exercise Hornbill Series 22/12 has officially concluded with the deactivation of task group 26.1, held this morning at the Maritime Tactical Centre’s Auditorium. This year, Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) was given the honour to conduct the exercise in Perak, Malaysia.
Guests of honour for the closing ceremony were first Admiral Dato Pahlawan Haji Mohd Adib bin Abdul Samad, Chief of Staff Fleet Headquarters and Colonel (L) Pg Norazmi bin Pg Haji Muhammad, Deputy Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) was given the honour to officially close the exercise and deactivate the task group 26.1. Also present during the ceremony were senior officers from the RMN and Exercise participants from both navies.
Colonel (L) Pg Norazmi also had courtesy call and discussion with the Chief of Staff Fleet Headquarters as well as visiting the training facilities at the Lumut Naval Base. RBN Deputy Commander made visits to Fleetwork trainer simulator, Bridge Shiphandling simulator (WASPADA) and the Fire fighting Damage Control Silumator (TANGKAS) at KD PELANDOK. He was also at hand to observe the command teams in action executing joint tactical warfare.
Throughout this exercise, officers and men from both navies has gained invaluable professional knowledge and experience from this exercise in which can only be achieved through sincere Intent, dedication and commitment from the participants.
LATIHAN HORNBILL SIRI 22/12 BERAKHIR

– Latihan Hornbill Action Speed Tactical Trainer Siri ke 22/12 diantara
Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB) dan Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia
(TLDM) telah dilaksanakan dengan jayanya. Upacara penutup latihan
berlangsung di auditorium Pusat Taktikal Maritim (PUSTAKMAR). Latihan
Hornbill pada kali ini dihoskan oleh TLDB.
Tetamu
kehormat bagi upacara penutup majlis ialah Laksamana Pertama Dato
Pahlawan Haji Mohd Adib bin Abdul Samad, Ketua Staf Markas Armada TLDM
dan Kolonel (L) Pg Norazmi bin Pg Haji Muhammad, Timbalan Pemerintah
TLDB telah diberi penghormatan bagi menutup rasmi latihan. Turut hadir
diupacara tersebut adalah terdiri daripada pegawai-pegawai kanan
memerintah, pegawai-pegawai dan anggota TLDB dan TLDM yang ikut serta
didalam Latihan Hornbill.
Timbalan
Pemerintah TLDB juga telah membuat kunjungan hormat dan berpeluang
untuk membuat perbincangan bersama Ketua Staf Markas Armada dan
seterusnya membuat lawatan ke fasilitas latihan di Pengkalan TLDM
Lumut. Timbalan Pemerintah TLDB jua membuat lawatan ke Fleetwork
Tactical Trainer, Bridge Shiphandling Simulator (WASPADA) dan fire
fighting damage control Simulator (TANGKAS) di KD PELANDOK. Beliau juga
berpeluang untuk menyaksikan aksi command Teams kedua-dua Tentera Laut
dalam mengendalikan taktik peperangan bersama.
Hasil
daripada latihan yang di adakan, anggota-anggota yang terlibat mencapai
peningkatan yang positif dari segi kemahiran profesionalisma,
pengetahuan serta pengalaman taktik peperangan dan komunikasi yang telah
dilatihkan hasil daripada dedikasi dan komitment yang telah ditunjukan.
