SURABAYA, INDONESIA Monday 4 February 2013 – A delegation of 15 personnel from Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and the Indonesian Navy (IDN) started a joint simulator exercise code-named HELANG LAUT ASTT 14A/13 Surabaya, Indonesia from the 3rd to 9th of February 2013. The opening ceremony of the exercise was officiated by First Admiral TNI Darwanto, Chief of Staff for the Indonesian Western Fleet.

This exercise aims at strengthening the bilateral relationship and also to improve mutual co-operation between RBN and IDN.  It is also aimed at achieving understanding of tactical procedures using simulators.

For this year, the IDN will host the one week event and is headed by Lt Col A. Rooswirawan as the Commander Task Group for theexercise and Lt Col (L) Pg Mohammad bin Pg Haji Damit will be the head of delegation as well as the Deputy Commander Task Group. The RBN delegation had departed from Brunei Darussalam on the 3rd of February 2013 and will return on the 9th of February 2013. 

The exercise itself includes a tactical phase, which incorporates tactical procedure on tactical maneuver and Encounter exercise between the two navies to achieve a mutual understanding and practicing the Helang Laut Standard Exercise Procedures (HELSEP).  Several interaction programmes comprising of sports event as well as educational visits to platform such as the Sigma Class Corvette were organized to improve knowledge and relationships between both navies.

TENTERA LAUT DIRAJA BRUNEI ADAKAN EKSESAIS HELANG LAUT ASTT 14A/13

SURABAYA, Isnin 4 Februari 2013
– Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB) dan Tentera Nasional Indonesia,
Angkatan Laut (TNI AL) bergabung dalam menjalani Eksesais HELANG LAUT
ASTT 14A/13 yang diadakan di Surabaya, Indonesia selama satu minggu,
bermula pada 03 hingga 09 Februari 2013.

Majlis
pembukaan latihan telah disempuranakan oleh YM Laksmana pertama TNI
Darwanto, ketua staf bagi Wilayah Timur TNI AL.  Lt Kol TNI
A.Rooswirawan selaku Commander task Group bagi Eksesais helang laut dan
Lt Kol (L) Pg Mohammad bin Pg Hj Damit selaku Deputy Commander Task
Group dan juga Ketua Delegasi bagi pihak TLDB.

Objektif
latihan adalah untuk mengeratkan tali persahabatan diantara TLDB dan
TNI AL sekaligus berkongsi pengetahuan dan maklumat diantara kedua-dua
pihak mengenai prosedur taktikal dengan menggunakan simulator. 
Disamping itu juga, latihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan lagi
kerjasama diantara kedua pihak.

Bagi
Eksesais Helang Laut ASTT 14A/13, TNI AL menjadi penganjur utama bagi
latihan tersebut.  15 orang warga TLDB terlibat dalam menjalani latihan
ini.  Eksesais ini mengandungi fasa taktikal, dimana peserta-peserta
eksesais akan melatihkan prosedur taktikal didalam simulator dengan
engikuti Helang Laut Standard Exercise Procedures (HELSEP).  Program
interaksi yang melibatkan acara sukan dan lawatan ke kapal perang Sigma
Klas juga akan diadakan bagi mengeratkan lagi tali persahabatan diantara
dua pihak.
