BUKIT AGOK, TUTONG, Wednesday 12 Oktober 2016 – Exercise AIRGUARD 22/16 came to a close today at the Bukit Agok Firing Range. The closing ceremony was presided by both the Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Shahril Anwar bin Haji Ma’awiah and the Chief of the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Major General Mervyn Tan Wei Ming.
The Commander of the RBAirF gave a speech before going together with his Singaporean counterpart to tour the exercise areas. In his speech, the Commander of RBAirF emphasised the significance of the exercise as one of the bridges of military to military cooperation between the two air forces. He also added that this year’s exercise was a significant one as it featured, for the first time, two female troop commanders leading the exercise. They were 1119 Lt (U) Noraqidah binti Efinddi from the RBAirF and LTA Thng Lizhen from the RSAF.
The ceremony then saw the flag for Exercise AIRGUARD being handed over by the Commanding Officer of the No. 2 Wing, RBAirF to the Commanding Officer of the 18th Divisional Air Defence Artillery Battalion (18 DA Bn) RSAF as a symbol of handing over of the duty as host for the next AIRGUARD Exercise.
Exercise AIRGUARD 22/2016 started on 06 October 2016 and lasted for two weeks.
EKSESAIS AIRGUARD 2016 DENGAN RASMI DITUTUP
BUKIT AGOL TUTONG, Rabu 12 Oktober 2016 – Eksesais AIRGUARD 22/16 telah ditutup pada hari ini di Padang Tembak Bukit Agok. Majlis penutup telah dipengerusikan oleh Pemerintah Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB) Brigadier Jeneral (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Shahril Anwar bin Haji Ma’awiah dan Panglima Angkatan Udara Republik Singapura (RSAF) Mejar General Mervyn Tan Wei Ming.
Pemerintah TUDB terlebih dahulu memberikan ucapan sebelum mengadakan lawatan bersama-sama dengan rakan sejawatannya dari Singapura untuk meninjau kawasan eksesais. Di dalam ucapannya, Pemerintah TUDB menekankan pentingnya eksesais tersebut sebagai salah satu penghubung kerjasama ketenteraan di antara kedua-dua tentera udara. Beliau juga menyatakan bahawa eksesais pada tahun ini merupakan yang bermakna seperti yang diketengahkan, kerana buat pertama kali, dua Ketua Terup Pertahanan Udara wanita telah mengetuai eksesais ini. Mereka adalah Lt (U) Noraqidah binti Efinddi dari TUDB dan LTA Thng Lizhen dari RSAF.
Majlis tersebut kemudiannya melihatkan bendera Eksesais AIRGUARD diserahkan oleh Pegawai Pemerintah Cawangan No 2, TUDB kepada Pegawai Pemerintah 18 Divisional Air Defence Artillery Battalion (18 DA Bn) RSAF sebagai simbol penyerahan tugas bagi tuan rumah Eksesais AIRGUARD akan datang.
Eksesais AIRGUARD 22/2016 bermula pada 06 Oktober 2016 dan berlangsung selama dua minggu.
