REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE, Thursday, 16 May 2019 – The Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Haji Mohd Zakaria bin Haji Sarudin attended the 12th International Maritime Defence Exhibition (IMDEX) Asia and the 6th International Maritime Security Conference (IMSC) 2019 held in the Republic of Singapore from 14 to 16 May 2019. Accompanying the Deputy Permanent Secretary was the Director for Centre of Science and Technology Research and Development.
The event was officially launched by the Minister for Defence of the Republic of Singapore, Dr. Ng Eng Hen. In addition, the International Maritime Security Conference (IMSC 2019) that was held concurrently at IMDEX Asia was officially launched by the Chief of Navy, Republic of Singapore Navy, Rear Admiral Lew Chuen Hong. This biennial event saw the participation from international defence exhibitors which showcased a full range of maritime military products and technology. The event also showcased a display of warships at Changi Naval Base which welcomed the participation of naval assets from 15 countries, including KDB DARUTTAQWA from the Royal Brunei Navy.
On the sidelines of the visit, the Deputy Permanent Secretary made separate courtesy calls to the Deputy Secretary (Technology), Ministry of Defence Singapore, Rear Admiral Frederick Chew Chih Chiang; and Brigadier General Cyril Crozes, Director of Asia Pacific, Directorate for International Development, Ministry of Defence, Republic of France.

Asia 2019 ke-12 dan
International Maritime Security Conference
(IMSC) 2019 ke-6 di Republik Singapura dari 14 hingga 16 Mei 2019. Turut hadir bersama Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap, Kementerian Pertahanan ialah Pengarah Pusat Penyelidikan dan Perkembangan Sains dan Teknologi.
Majlis pembukaan IMDEX Asia 2019 telah dirasmikan oleh Menteri Pertahanan Republik Singapura, Dr. Ng Eng Hen, manakala IMSC 2019 telah dirasmikan oleh Panglima Tentera Laut, Angkatan Laut Republik Singapura, Laksamana Muda Lew Chuen Hong. Pameran pertahanan yang dianjurkan setiap dua tahun ini telah disertai oleh pembekal-pembekal pertahanan dan komersial antarabangsa yang mempamerkan pelbagai produk dan teknologi pertahanan maritim. IMDEX Asia 2019 juga mengadakan pameran
IMDEX Asia Warships Display di Pangkalan Tentera Laut Changi, di mana 15 angkatan tentera laut termasuk KDB DARUTTAQWA, Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei juga turut serta.
Semasa lawatan tersebut, Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap telah mengadakan kunjungan hormat dengan Laksamana Muda Frederick Chew Chih Chiang, Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap (Teknologi), Kementerian Pertahanan, Republik Singapura; dan Brigedier Jeneral Cyril Crozes, Pengarah Asia Pasifik di Jabatanarah Perkembangan Antarabangsa, Kementerian Pertahanan, Republik Perancis.
