AMMAN, JORDAN, Tuesday 10 May 2016 - First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, the Deputy Minister of Defence attended the 11th Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX-2016) at the King Abdullah I Airbase in Amman, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Present at the airport to receive the delegation was the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, His Excellency Nayef H. Al-Fayez.
During this visit, the Deputy Minister of Defence had the opportunity to hold a bilateral call with His Excellency Dr Abdalla Ensour, Prime Minister and the Minister of Defence, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, where both sides reaffirmed their commitments to strengthen the excellent bilateral relations between both countries, particularly in defence and military cooperation. Both Brunei Darussalam and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan also discussed other regional and international security matters of mutual interests.
The Deputy Minister of Defence also witnessed a demonstration of ground and air mobility tactical displays, and visited the exhibitions which provide updates on the latest technology and trends in various defence and security fields, particularly specializing in special forces equipment and services.
Accompanying the Deputy Minister of Defence to the event was Captain (Rtd) Haji Mohd Amirul Shahnoel bin Haji Mohd Noeh, RBN, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Technology) and His Excellency Colonel (Rtd) Nooradin bin Haji Ya’akub, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to Amman, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
