PARIS, Wednesday 15 June 2016 – First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, the Deputy Minister of Defence is currently attending the 2016 Eurosatory which commenced on 13 June 2016 at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre, Paris, France.
This afternoon, First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit held a bilateral call with Mr. Jean-Marc Todeschini, State Secretary of the Minister of Defence for Veterans Affairs and Memory of the French Republic, where both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress of the existing defence and military cooperation between both countries, underscored with regular bilateral meetings held under the Joint Defence Working Committee, and the appointments of Defence Attachés accredited to respective countries.
Both sides also acknowledged that multilateral platforms, such as the 2016 Eurosatory defence exhibition, play significant roles in promoting cooperative engagements, interactions and exchange of views between defence and military officials, as well as related industry representatives. First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz and Mr. Jean-Marc Todeschini also discussed regional and international security issues of mutual interests.
During the visit, the Deputy Minister of Defence had the opportunity to visit exhibitions showcasing the latest defence industry development, technology, trends, products and services in various defence and security fields.
Tomorrow, First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit and delegation will have the opportunity to visit France’s Cyber-Security Centre in Paris.
Accompanying the Deputy Minister of Defence to the 2016 Eurosatory is Captain (Rtd) Haji Mohd Amirul Shahnoel bin Haji Mohd Noeh, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Technology), and Major Awg Muhd Ashady bin Hj Md Harris, Assistant Head of Defence Information Technology Unit, Ministry of Defence.
