MOSCOW, 27-28 April 2016 – First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, Deputy Minister of Defence of Brunei Darussalam, attended the Fifth Moscow Conference on International Security, organised by the Ministry of Defence of Russian Federation, held at the Congress Hall, Radisson Royal Hotel Moscow.
During the opening of the conference, the Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, His Excellency Army General Sergey Shoygu, underscored the importance of the Conference as a platform to discuss on wide-ranging challenges of global and regional security issues and encouraged an enhanced military-to-military cooperation to address pressing security issues, especially in fighting global terrorism. His Excellency Shoygu also reiterated the importance of creating a broad anti-terrorist coalition based on the norms of international law and the UN. Topics on the Middleeast, Europe, Asia Pacific security and the role of the Armed Forces in countering “colour revolutions” in Central Asia were also being discussed in the conference.

The conference brought together more than 500 participants, including senior defence and military officials as well as non-governmental experts from over 50 countries.
