BOLKIAH GARRISON, Friday 13 January 2017– The delegation from the Command and Staff College, Ministry of Defence of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia concluded their one-week study visit to the Sultanate today.
During the visit, the delegation, led by Major General (Pilot) Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Shehri, War Wing Commander of the Command and Staff College, conducted courtesy calls to First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohammad Tamit, Deputy Minister of Defence as well as to Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
As part of the programme, the delegation was given a presentation on the organisation and structure of the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. They also had the opportunity to conduct visits to various other ministries and departments such as the State Mufti Department, Information Department, and Department of Economic Planning and Development of the Prime Minister’s Office; as well as to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Added to this, the delegation paid a visit to Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam; Brunei Economic Development Board; the Centre of Strategic and Policy Studies; and Darussalam Enterprise.
On top of the working visits, the delegation also took the time to visit the country’s cultural attractions such as the Royal Regalia and the Kampong Ayer Cultural and Tourism Gallery.
Brunei Darussalam and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia established diplomatic ties on 1 July 1987 in which this year marks the 30th anniversary of bilateral relations.
