TANAH JAMBU, Monday, 30 November 2020 – The Ministry of Defence Frontier Journal was launched this afternoon in a ceremony held at the Auditorium Hall, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Defence Academy, Tanah Jambu.
The Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (R) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Second Minister of Defence, in his speech, expressed hope for the journal to be one of the main platforms for sharing ideas and findings from scientific research as well as in further fostering the culture of continuous learning and innovation in MINDEF and the RBAF. The Minister regarded the journal as a contribution to the science and technology community in the country and hoped that cooperation and collaboration can be further strengthened among members of the community in contributing towards the nation’s development and progress.
In attendance were the Commander of RBAF, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Vice Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Brunei, Services Commanders and Joint Force Commander, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, representative of the Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police and representatives from government ministries.
During the ceremony, copies of the journal were also presented by the Guest of Honour to representatives from other government ministries as well as the higher educational institutions.
As a token of appreciation to those who have contributed articles to Volume 1 of the Journal, the Guest of Honour also presented Certificates of Appreciation to the authors from the Ministry of Defence and RBAF.
The Frontier Journal is an initiative of the Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) which consists of science and technology-related departments and units from MINDEF and the RBAF.
Among the topics covered in this first volume are “Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Injuries in the RBAF”, “The Importance of Swimming Infrastructure Design and Its Impact on Energy Efficiency”, “Proposed Physical Training for RBAF During Fasting During Ramadan ” dan “ Journey Towards Integrated Knowledge Management System (iKMS) ”.
JURNAL SAINS DAN TEKNOLOGI PERTAHANAN “FRONTIER” DILANCARKAN
TANAH JAMBU, Isnin, 30 November 2020 –Jilid Pertama Jurnal Frontier Kementerian Pertahanan telah dilancarkan petang tadi di satu majlis yang telah diadakan di Dewan Auditorium, Akademi Pertahanan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB), Tanah Jambu.
Tetamu Kehormat Majlis, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Mejar Jeneral (B) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Menteri Pertahanan Kedua, dalam ucapannya telah menyuarakan harapan bagi jurnal tersebut untuk menjadi salah satu landasan utama untuk mengongsikan idea dan dapatan kajian saintifik serta memupuk keinginan pembelajaran berterusan dan innovasi di Kementerian Pertahanan dan ABDB.
Yang Berhormat Menteri Pertahanan Kedua juga melihat jurnal tersebut sebagai sumbangan kepada komuniti sains dan teknologi di Negara Brunei Darussalam, dan berharap kerjasama dan kolaborasi antara satu sama lain di kalangan komuniti berkenaan dapat diperluaskan lagi demi perkembangan dan kemajuan negara.
Turut hadir, Pemerintah ABDB, Setiausaha Tetap Kementerian Pertahanan, Naib Canselor Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Naib Canselor Universiti Teknologi Brunei, Pemerintah-pemerintah Angkatan Tentera dan Pemerintah Angkatan Bersama, Timbalan-timbalan Setiausaha Tetap, wakil Pesuruhjaya Polis Diraja Brunei dan wakil-wakil dari Kementerian-kementerian kerajaan.
Semasa majlis tersebut, salinan jurnal berkenaan juga telah disampaikan oleh Tetamu Kehormat kepada wakil-wakil dari kementerian-kemeterian kerajaan dan institusi-institusi akademik.
Bagi menghargai sumbangan artikel penyelidikan ke jilid pertdana jurnal tersebut, tetamu kehormat majlis turut menyampaikan sijil penghargaan kepada pengarang-pengarang Jurnal Frontier yang terdiri dari para pegawai dan penyelidik dari Kementerian Pertahanan dan ABDB.
Jurnal Frontier merupakan hasil usaha Kumpulan Sains dan Teknologi Pertahanan atau Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) yang terdiri dari jabatan-jabatan dan unit-unit sains dan teknologi dari Kementerian Pertahanan dan ABDB.
Di antara topik-topik yang terdapat di dalam jilid ini adalah “Kecederaan Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) dalam ABDB”, “Kepentingan Reka Bentuk Infrastruktur Kolam Renang dan Kesannya Terhadap Kecekapan Tenaga”, “Cadangan Menjalankan Latihan Fizikal bagi ABDB Ketika Berpuasa Pada Bulan Ramadhan”, dan “Perjalanan ke Arah Integrated Knowledge Management System (iKMS)”.
