BOLKIAH GARRISON, Tuesday, 12 December 2017 – Brigadier General Rory Copinger-Symes, Deputy Director for International Logistics and Theatre Security Cooperation (DJ4-ILSC), Pacific Command, United States of America called on First Admiral (Retired) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd. Tamit, Acting Minister of Defence of Brunei Darussalam this morning at the Ministry of Defence.
During the call, both sides affirmed the friendly relations between the two countries and the robust bilateral cooperation notably in the defence and military sectors. Both sides were also pleased with the ongoing bilateral cooperation in military-related activities at the bilateral level namely through Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT), and multilateral level through Southeast Asia Cooperation and Training (SEACAT) as well as through the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus) framework.
Existing cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and the United States of America is cemented by the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Defence Cooperation signed on 29 November 1994. The Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement (ACSA) was signed on 29 July 2010, which supplements the logistics cooperation between the two countries.

BOLKIAH GARISON, Selasa 12 Disember 2017 – Laksamana Pertama (B) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd. Tamit, Pemangku Menteri Pertahanan telah menerima satu kunjungan hormat daripada Brigadier Jeneral Rory Copinger Symes, Deputy Director for International Logistics and Theatre Security Cooperation (DJ4-ILSC) Pacific Command, Amerika Syarikat pada pagi tadi.
Semasa kunjungan hormat tersebut, kedua belah pihak telah mengesahkan hubungan mesra yang terjalin di antara kedua belah negara dan kerjasama yang sangat baik terutamanya dalam bidang pertahanan dan ketenteraan. Kedua belah pihak juga menyuarakan kepuasan hati terhadap kerjasama yang sedia ada, terutamanya dalam latihan dan eksesais dua hala dan berbagai hala melalui Southeast Asia Cooperation and Training (SEACAT) dan juga melalui bidang kerja ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus).
Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Amerika Syarikat telah menandatangani Memorandum Persefahaman dalam kerjasama pertahanan pada 29 November 1994. Kerjasama lojistik juga telah dimeterai melalui penandatangan Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement pada 29 Julai 2010.
