BOLKIAH GARRISON, Monday 16 May 2016 – Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) received a courtesy call from Captain Ruel S Saonoy PN (MNSA), Deputy Commander, Fleet Marine Ready Force and Naval Task Force 80. Also present during the call was Captain Vincent J. Sibala PN, Commanding Officer of the BRP Gregorio S. Del Pilar, Philippine Navy, Armed Forces of the Philippines.
The BRP Gregorio S. Del Pilar is in Brunei for the bilateral Maritime Training Activity (MTA) SEAGULL Series-7 with the Royal Brunei Navy, which has commenced on 10 May 2016 and will conclude on 18 May 2016.
During the call, RBAF Commander welcomed the Deputy Commander of the Fleet Marine Ready Force and Naval Task Force 80, as well as the Commanding Officer of BRP Gregorio S. Del Pilar and his crew to Brunei Darussalam and expressed his gratitude for the constant support given by the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Government of the Philippines to the RBAF, especially during the recent ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Maritime Security and Counter Terrorism (ADMM-Plus MS & CT Exercise) held earlier this month. Discussions also focused on the warm bilateral defence relationship between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of the Philippines, as well as the challenges faced by both countries regionally.
