TANAH JAMBU, Wednesday, 4 December 2019 – The closing ceremony of the two-day seminar held in conjunction with the Defence Attachés / Advisers Conference 2019 (DA Conference 2019) was held today at the Auditorium, Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).
The ceremony was officially closed by the Second Minister of Defence, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof.
The seminar brought together the Brunei Darussalam’s Defence Attachés / Advisers posted to different parts of the world and invited speakers from Resident Defence Attachés / Advisers to Brunei Darussalam to deliberate on the current security challenges faced by the respective countries. This year’s panelists included the United Kingdom Defence Adviser to Brunei Darussalam and the Chief Officer, Office Defence Cooperation from Embassy of the United States of America.
Present as the guest of honour during the opening ceremony yesterday was the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud. With the theme of ‘Promoting The Understanding of Evolving Regional Security Dynamics Through Cooperation and Information Sharing’, this year’s seminar aims to promote information sharing on contemporary issues related to security, current concerns and challenges.
It is hoped that such discussions will generate mutual understanding, and strengthen the professional relationship network and cooperation among the Brunei Darussalam Defence Attachés / Advisers and those from other countries.
MAJLIS PENUTUP BAGI SESI SEMINAR PERSIDANGAN PENASIHAT/ATASE PERTAHANAN 2019
AKADEMI PERTAHANAN ABDB, Rabu, 4 Disember 2019 – Majlis Penutup Sesi Seminar yang bersempena dengan Persidangan Penasihat/Atase Pertahanan 2019 selama dua hari telah diadakan di Dewan Auditorium, Akademi Pertahanan ABDB. Majlis telah dirasmikan oleh Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Mejar Jeneral (Bersara) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof, Menteri Pertahanan Kedua.
Seminar tersebut telah membawakan bersama Atase / Penasihat Pertahanan Negara Brunei Darussalam yang ditempatkan di pelbagai negara-negara serta pembentang jemputan terdiri daripada Atase / Penasihat Pertahanan luar negeri ke Negara Brunei Darussalam untuk membincangkan cabaran keselamatan yang dihadapi oleh negara-negara masing-masing. Ahli panel tahun ini termasuk Penasihat Pertahanan United Kingdom ke Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Ketua Pegawai,
Office of Defence Cooperation dari Kedutaan Amerika Syarikat.
Hadir sebagai tetamu kehormat semasa Majlis Pembukaan kelmarin pula ialah Pemerintah ABDB, Mejar Jeneral Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud. Dengan bertemakan
‘Promoting The Understanding of Evolving Regional Security Dynamics Through Cooperation and Information Sharing’, seminar pada tahun ini bertujuan untuk mempromosikan perkongsian maklumat terhadap isu-isu kontemporari yang berkaitan dengan keselamatan, kebimbangan yang dihadapi masa kini dan cabaran-cabaran semasa.
Dengan sesi perbincangan dan perkongsian ini, adalah diharapkan ianya akan dapat menjana persefahaman bersama, memperkuatkan lagi rangkaian hubungan profesional dan kerjasama di antara Atase-Atase / Penasihat-Penasihat Pertahanan Negara Brunei Darussalam dan negara-negara lain.
