MUARA, Thursday 31 October 2019 – The 25th Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) bilateral exercise between the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), and the United States Navy (USN) and United States Marine Corps (USMC) came to an end today.
The closing ceremony was co-chaired by Colonel Haji Norhazalan bin Abdullah, Chief of Staff, Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) RBAF and Captain Matthew J. Jerbi, Commander, Destroyer Squadron 7 (COMDESRON SEVEN) at the Multi-National Coordination Centre (MNCC), Muara. Participants from both the RBAF and USN were also present during the closing ceremony.
Amongst the joint activities conducted in conjunction with the 25th CARAT 2019 were a medical symposium, a women’s interaction programme, senior enlisted engagement, and military law symposium, and consisted of land-based and at-sea trainings. The exercise saw participation from the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF), Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), Royal Brunei Airforce (RBAirF), the Military Police, Judge Advocate General’s Office, RBAF Medical Services, the RBAF Band, Public Relations Unit and other government agencies such as the Royal Brunei Police Force, Maritime Port Authority Brunei Darussalam, Fisheries Department, Narcotics Control Bureau, Attorney General’s Chambers, Emergency Medical Ambulance Services (EMAS) and Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
The closing ceremony marks the end of yet another successful series of CARAT that served to further enhance defence relations between both countries as well as in strengthening cooperation in the areas of sharing of best practices, knowledge and experiences amongst the participants.

Antara aktiviti yang telah dilaksanakan sempena Eksesais

Unit Perkhidmatan Perubatan ABDB, Pancaragam ABDB, Unit Perhubungan Awam dan juga agensi-agensi kerajaan yang lain seperti Pasukan Polis Diraja Brunei, Pihak Berkuasa Maritim dan Pelabuhan Negara Brunei Darussalam, Jabatan Perikanan, Biro Kawalan Narkotik, Pejabat Peguam Negara, Perkhidmatan Kecemasan Ambulan Perubatan (EMAS) dan Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
Majlis penutup ini menandakan penghujung salah satu lagi siri eksesais CARAT yang berjaya meningkatkan hubungan pertahanan antara kedua-dua negara serta mengukuhkan kerjasama dalam bidang perkongsian amalan terbaik, pengetahuan dan pengalaman di kalangan para peserta.
