PENANJONG GARRISON, Thursday 12 Dec 2013 – The closing ceremony and presentation of certificates of the English Language Course session 2013 for thirty foreign armed forces personnel was held at The Evolution Centre, Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces (TI RBAF) Penanjong Garrison this afternoon.
The guest of honour for the ceremony was the Commander of RBAF, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin.

Among other guests at the ceremony were representatives from the respective countries, senior officers and officers of RBAF, teachers, instructors and course participants.
The fourth intake of the English course started on 28 October 2013 with a participation from the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, Lao People’s Army, Vietnam People’s Army, Indonesian National Armed Forces, Myanmar Armed Forces and Royal Thai Armed Forces. The intake also marked a milestone as Myanmar and Thailand joined the course for the first time.
The course is aimed at enhancing the English language proficiency and skills of the course participants so that they are able to communicate more effectively both at social settings and at their place of work. Aside from improving the English language skills and knowledge of the course participants, they have also learnt about the culture, traditions and history of Brunei Darussalam. This course is also part of Brunei’s continuous efforts to enhance bilateral relations and defence diplomacy with its neighbouring countries. Since the inception of the course in 2010, the institute has received overwhelming response from other countries.
Among the course participants are Lieutenant Colonels, Majors, Captains, Lieutenants, Warrant Officers and Sergeants. Also present at the event were First Secretary and their respective attaché.
MAJLIS PENUTUP KURSUS BAHASA INGGERIS ANGKATAN TENTERA ASING 2013 KALI KE-4

– Majlis penutup dan penyampaian sijil sesi Kursus Bahasa Inggeris 2013
untuk dua puluh lapan orang angkatan tentera asing telah diadakan di
Pusat Evolusi, Institut Latihan ABDB (IL ABDB ) Penanjong Garison pada
petang ini.
Tetamu
kehormat bagi majlis tersebut ialah Pemerintah ABDB , Mejar Jeneral
Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok
Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin.
Antara
tetamu lain di majlis itu ialah wakil-wakil dari negara masing-masing,
pegawai-pegawai kanan dan pegawai ABDB, guru, pengajar dan peserta
kursus.
Pengambilan
keempat kursus Bahasa Inggeris ini bermula pada 28 Oktober 2013 dengan
penyertaan dari Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Kemboja, Tentera Rakyat Lao,
Tentera Rakyat Vietnam, Tentera Nasional Indonesia , Angkatan Tentera
Myanmar dan Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Thai. Pengambilan kali ini juga
merupakan pencapaian penting kerana Myanmar dan Thailand menyertai
kursus ini buat pertama kali.
Kursus
ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan penguasaan bahasa Inggeris dan
kemahiran peserta kursus supaya mereka dapat berkomunikasi dengan lebih
berkesan di kedua-dua suasana sosial dan di tempat kerja masing-masing.
Selain daripada meningkatkan kemahiran bahasa Inggeris dan pengetahuan
peserta kursus, mereka juga telah belajar tentang budaya, tradisi dan
sejarah Brunei Darussalam. Kursus ini juga merupakan sebahagian daripada
usaha berterusan Brunei Darussalam bagi meningkatkan hubungan dua hala
dan diplomasi pertahanan dengan negara-negara jiran. Sejak permulaan
kursus ini pada tahun 2010, institut ini telah menerima sambutan yang
menggalakkan daripada negara-negara lain.
Antara
peserta kursus adalah berpangkat Leftenan Kolonel, Mejar, Kapten,
Leftenan, Pegawai Waran dan Sarjan. Turut hadir pada majlis itu ialah
Setiausaha Pertama dan atase masing-masing.
