BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Friday 22 Nov 2013 – Ten Army cadets along with two teachers left the country yesterday morning to attend the 21st International Exchange Programme in Singapore for the next 10 days.
The contingent is led by CFO Lieutenant Haji Mohd Fariz Saufi bin Haji Mohd Ismail, who said the programme aimed at strengthening and building ties among participating cadets.
Seven countries, India, the United States and New Zealand, are taking part in the programme.
As part of the programme, participants will have the chance to visit the Singapore Naval Base.
Lieutenant Colonel (L) Norshahrinizam bin Haji Talib, who sent off the group, said, “We hope to build interaction and confidence in the programme.
“This also gives us the opportunity to enhance bilateral ties between Brunei Darussalam and Singapore. Brunei has conducted similar programmes, but those were only with the Singapore Army Cadet.”
Also at the airport was Awang Jalil bin Pengarah Haji Kapitan, Head of the Uniform Groups and Community Services Division from the Department of Co-Curriculum Education.
