BOLKIAH GARRISON, Monday 15 August 2011 - The New Archives Building was officially handed-over to its enduser. The keys were presented first from the Contractor Walltique Sdn Bhd represented by Liaw Watt Lee, to the Consultant Arkitek Alamreka Sdn Bhd represented by Pg Hj Ismail bin Pg Hj Mahmood.
Then from Consultant Alamreka Sdn Bhd to Directorate of Development and Works Services, Ministry of Defence which was presented by Pg Jefri bin Pg Tajuddin. Lastly DDWS presented the keys to the enduser Directorate of Administration and Manpower which was represented by Awg Nor Aidil bin Hj Abu Bakar.
Construction started on 16th September 2010 and was fully completed on 28th July 2011. The project is valued around B$3.3 million. The Archives Building has the following amenities:-
• Ground floor – Lobby/ Reception and Security, Public Reference, General Office, Praying Rooms, Sorting Zone, Scanning, Index/Cataloguing.
• Annex Building – Temporary Storage, Fumigation and Freezer Room
• First Floor – Archives and Storage Room.
