RIMBA AIR FORCE BASE, Tuesday, 30 September 2025 - The Foundation Laying Ceremony for the proposed new Air Defence Capability building that includes No. 2 Wing Headquarters, Hangar 238 and Medium Range Air Defence (MRAD) Hangar, Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) was held at the project site in Rimba Air Force Base.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Guest of Honour, Yang Mulia Brigadier General (U) Haji Haszahaidi bin Haji Ahmad Daud, Commander of the RBAirF. Also in attendance were Yang Mulia Poh Kui Choon, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence as well as senior officers from Ministry of Defence and RBAirF.
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by a project briefing outlining the background and objectives of the development. The Commander of the RBAirF then officiated the foundation laying ceremony, symbolising the commencement of a significant milestone in the Air Force's infrastructure development. This was followed by the call to prayer (Azan), before concluding with a group photo session and the recitation of Doa Selamat.
The No. 2 Wing Headquarters is designed to have a total floor area of 1,990m² to accommodate administrative offices, while Hangar 238 and the MRAD Hangar will cover 1,323m² and 1,500m² respectively. Groundworks commenced on 7 May 2025 under the supervision of LSL Sdn Bhd, with the project scheduled for completion by November 2026.
This development reflects the continued efforts of the Ministry of Defence and the RBAirF to strengthen operational readiness, modernise facilities, and ensure the sustainability of air defence capabilities in line with the nation's defence priorities.
MAJLIS PERLETAKAN BATU ASAS INFRASTRUKTUR KEUPAYAAN PERTAHANAN UDARA MARKAS CAWANGAN NO. 2, HANGAR 238 DAN
MEDIUM RANGE AIR DEFENCE (MRAD) HANGAR
PANGKALAN TENTERA UDARA RIMBA, Selasa, 30 September 2025 – Majlis Perletakan Batu Asas bagi bangunan baharu yang merangkumi Keupayaan Pertahanan Udara, Markas Cawangan No. 2, Hangar 238 dan MRAD Hangar, Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei (TUDB) telah berlangsung di tapak projek Pangkalan Tentera Udara Rimba pada petang tadi.
Hadir selaku tetamu kehormat ialah Yang Mulia Brigedier Jeneral (U) Haji Haszahaidi bin Haji Ahmad Daud, Pemerintah TUDB. Turut hadir ialah Yang Mulia Poh Kui Choon, Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap Kementerian Pertahanan dan Pegawai-pegawai Kanan Kementerian Pertahanan serta TUDB.
Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah, diikuti dengan taklimat ringkas mengenai latar belakang projek. Seterusnya, Pemerintah TUDB menyempurnakan upacara perletakan batu asas yang disusuli dengan laungan azan. Majlis diakhiri dengan sesi bergambar ramai serta bacaan Doa Selamat.
Bangunan Markas Cawangan No. 2 akan mempunyai keluasan lantai sebanyak 1,990m² untuk menempatkan pejabat-pejabat pentadbiran, manakala Hangar 238 dan MRAD Hangar masing-masing akan mempunyai keluasan lantai sebanyak 1,323m² dan 1,500m². Kerja-kerja pembinaan telah bermula pada 7 Mei 2025 oleh Syarikat LSL Sdn Bhd dan dijangka siap sepenuhnya pada bulan November 2026.
Pembangunan ini mencerminkan usaha berterusan Kementerian Pertahanan dan TUDB dalam memperkukuh kesiapsiagaan operasi, memodenkan kemudahan, serta memastikan kelestarian keupayaan pertahanan udara negara.
