​THE REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE, Friday, 5 May 2023 – Captain Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), attended the International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (IMDEX) Asia 2023 from 2 to 5 May 2023 at Changi Exhibition Centre, Republic of Singapore. 

Dr. Ng Eng Hen, Minister for Defence, the guest of honour at the event, highlighted in his opening remarks the importance of strengthening mutual understanding and fostering consensus via platforms such as IMDEX Asia against the backdrop of increasing tensions in a globally interlinked world. 

In attendance at the opening ceremony were 47 delegations, including 22 Navy Chiefs, Directors-General of Coast Guards, and Heads of Maritime Law Enforcement Agencies from 38 countries. Over 250 exhibitors from around the world participated in this year’s exhibition. At the same time, 22 ships from 13 countries took part in this year’s IMDEX Asia Warships Display, including Brunei Darussalam class patrol vessel KDB DARULEHSAN. The Acting Commander of the RBN also had the opportunity to hold separate bilateral meetings with the Chiefs of Navies from Singapore and Malaysia, as well as representatives from France.

The opening of IMDEX Asia 2023 was followed by the 8th International Maritime Security Conference (IMSC) held at Changi Exhibition Centre on 3 May. The IMSC is a high-profile conference that brings together Chiefs of Navies, Director-Generals of the Coast Guard, government officials, academia and key industry players around the world to discuss threats to maritime safety and security.

Prior to attending IMDEX Asia 2023 and 8th IMSC, Acting Commander RBN also attended the Indo-Pacific Nexus Insitu Users Conference organised by Insitu Inc. at the Westin Hotel from 1 to 2 May 2023. The conference was developed to foster cooperation and facilitate government-to-government discussions between current and previous users of Insitu Unmanned Aerial Systems products and services.
 

 

PEMANGKU PEMERINTAH TLDB HADIRI IMDEX ASIA 2023, INTERNATIONAL MARITIME SECURITY CONFERENCE KE-8 DAN INDO PACIFIC NEXUS INSITU USERS CONFERENCE SIRI PERTAMA DI REPUBLIK SINGAPURA

REPUBLIK SINGAPURA, Jumaat, 5 Mei 2023 – Kepten Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, Pemangku Pemerintah Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB) telah menghadiri International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (IMDEX) Asia 2023 yang berlangsung bermula 2 hingga 5 Mei 2023 di Changi Exhibition Centre, Republik Singapura. 

Dr. Ng Eng Hen, Menteri Pertahanan Singapura selaku tetamu kehormat, dalam ucapan alu-aluan beliau menekankan kepentingan bagi meningkatkan kesefahaman di tengah situasi dunia yang tegang melalui acara seperti IMDEX Asia. 

Turut hadir pada majlis perasmian tersebut adalah sebanyak 47 delegasi termasuk 22 orang Pemerintah Angkatan Bersenjata, Pemerintah Tentera Laut, Timbalan-Timbalan Pemerintah Laut, Ketua Pengarah Pengawal Pantai, dan juga perwakilan daripada 38 buah negara. Seramai 250 peserta dari seluruh dunia telah mengambil bahagian dalam pameran tahun ini. Sementara itu, 22 buah kapal perang daripada 13 buah negara turut menyertai Pameran Kapal-Kapal Perang, termasuk kapal peronda kelas Negara Brunei Darussalam iaitu KDB DARULEHSAN. Pemangku Pemerintah TLDB juga berpeluang untuk mengadakan mesyuarat dua hala secara berasingan dengan Pemerintah-Pemerintah Tentera Laut dari Singapura dan Malaysia serta wakil daripada Perancis.

Acara pembukaan IMDEX Asia 2023 disusuli dengan persidangan International Maritime Security Conference (IMSC) ke-8 yang diadakan di Changi Exhibition Centre pada 3 Mei 2023. IMSC merupakan persidangan yang berprofil tinggi yang mengumpulkan Pemerintah Tentera Laut, Ketua Pengarah Pengawal Pantai, Pegawai Kerajaan, para akademik, peneraju utama industri dari seluruh dunia untuk membincangkan ancaman terhadap keselamatan dan sekuriti maritim.

Sebelum menghadiri IMDEX Asia 2023, Pemangku Pemerintah TLDB juga menghadiri Indo Pacific Nexus Insitu Users Conference yang dikendalikan oleh Syarikat Insitu bertempat di Westin Hotel pada 1 hingga 2 Mei 2023. Persidangan tersebut diadakan untuk menyelaras kerjasama dan memudahkan perbincangan di antara pihak kerajaan mengenai penggunaan produk Insitu Unmanned Aerial Systems dan perkhidmatan yang lainnya.
