SUNGAI AKAR, Thursday 23 May 2013 - In conjuction with the 52nd anniversary of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), a blood donation campaign successfully took place at Sungai Akar Camp. Those who have donated comprised of officers, staffs and course participants from the Defence Academy and the Gurkha Reserve Unit (GRU).
The campaign serves to support the local community by contributing to the National Blood Bank. It also helps promote the awareness of blood donation where such a simple act can save lives. The campaign is not only for RBAF personnel but families and friends are also welcome to donate towards this noble cause.
A total of 34 people donated blood for the blood donation campaign at Sungai Akar and the total so far is 289 pints. The next blood donation campaign will be held at Training Institute Cook House, Penanjong Garrison.
