BOLKIAH GARRISON, Wednesday 11 Dec 2013 – The Directorate of Development and Work Services 5-a-side Football Tournament was held at Mini Stadium, Bolkiah Garrison. The participants consisted of DDWS officers and staff from all nine garrisons and camps. The tournament was aimed at fostering closer relations amongst staff and officers of DDWS.
The Chief Guest was, Pg Haji Menudin bin Pg Lela Wijaya Pg Haji Yussof, Director of Development and Works Services. A total of 10 teams with a total of 80 players took part. They were Perwira Berakas, Maintenance HQ, EMS Bangar/Sg Akar/Rimba, DPS All Stars, EMS Lumut in Group A, while in Group B were EMS Penanjong, EMS Bolkiah, EMS Tutong, DPS Dugok FC and EMS Muara.
The tournament was won by Maintenance HQ defeating Dugok FC in a penalty shootout with a 2-1 win. Third Place was won by EMS Tutong after defeating EMS Bangar/Sg Akar/Rimba 1-0. Top Scorer went to Ak Muhammad Zulfadli bin Pg Maidin from Maintenance HQ with 5 goals and Best Veteran Player went to Sapee bin Haji Mohd Salleh of Dugok FC. Best player of the tournament went to Norfaez bin Awg Sayang from DPS Dugok FC. The prizes and trophies were presented by the Chief Guest.
