BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Monday 4 Nov 2013 – In glorifying the New Islamic year 1435 Hijrah and to reminisce the history of Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam and his friends, the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) held its celebration ceremony late this afternoon at mosques and suraus at all garrisons, bases and RBAF camps.
At the Ministry of Defence Surau in Bolkiah Garrison, the ceremony’s chief guest was the Joint Force Deputy Commander Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Col (U) Haji Hamsani bin Haji Abdul Hamid.
The evening ceremony began with the recital of the holy Quran Surah Al-Imran verse 190-195 followed by the end of the year 1434 Hijrah prayer, a mass Maghrib prayer, ‘wirid’ and then the beginning of the Islamic New Year 1435 Hijrah prayer.
The event was also graced with a Special Hijrah Lecture where the lecture topics range through the theme of this year’s celebration which is “Menghayati Wawasan Hijrah” or “Embracing Vision of Hijrah”. The lecturers consist of officials from RBAF Religious Unit (JAMA’AT) and Religious Section, Directorate of Administration and Manpower . The ceremony finally concluded with the mass Isya’ Prayer.
Meanwhile chief guests at Berakas Surau was Deputy Commander of Royal Brunei land Force, Col. Haji Zainal Ariffin bin Dato Paduka Haji Ahmad; at Muara Surau was Deputy Commander of Royal Brunei Navy, Col. (L) Pg Norazmi bin Pg Mohammad and at Dewan Punai was the Deputy Commander o Royal Brunei Air Force, Col. (U) Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat. While at suraus in Penanjong, Pengiran Ratna Indera Tutong, Lumut Camp, Officer Cadet School, Pulau Baru-Baru and Bangar were represented by their senior officials respectively.
The ceremony which was attended by military and civilian officers and personnel of the Ministry of Defence and RBAF hoped to strengthen the friendship among members of the Ministry of Defence and RBAF.
SAMBUTAN AWAL TAHUN BARU HIJRAH 1435 DI SEMUA GARISON, PANGKALAN & PERKHEMAHAN ABDB

Dalam menyemarakkan Sambutan Awal Tahun Hijrah 1435 Hijrah dan menanam
penghayatan terhadap peristiwa hijrah Baginda Rasulullah Shallallahu
‘Alaihi Wasallam serta para sahabat baginda, Kementerian Pertahanan dan
Angkatan Bersenjata Diraja Brunei telah mengadakan Sambutan Awal Tahun
Hijrah bertempat di semua Masjid dan Surau Garison, Pangkalan dan
Perkhemahan ABDB.
Tetamu
kehormat di Surau Kementerian Pertahanan, Bolkiah Garison ialah
Timbalan Pemerintah Markas Angkatan Bersama, Kol. (U) Haji Hamsani bin
Haji Abdul Hamid.
Majlis
pada malam tersebut di mulakan dengan bacaan ayat-ayat suci Al-Quran
Surah Al-Imran ayat 190-195 diikuti dengan bacaan Doa Akhir Tahun 1434
Hijrah, sembahyang Fardhu Maghrib berjemaah, bacaan wirid dan seterusnya
Doa Awal Tahun 1435 Hijrah.
Majlis
diserikan juga dengan Syarahan Khas Hijrah dimana tajuk syarahan
berkisar melalui tema sambutan pada tahun ini iaitu “Menghayati Wawasan
Hijrah”. Penceramah-penceramah adalah terdiri dari pegawai-pegawai dari
Jabatan Agama ABDB (JAMA’AT) dan Bahagian Ugama, Jabatanarah Pentadbiran
dan Tenaga Manusia. Majlis diakhiri dengan sembahyang Fardhu Isya
berjemaah.
Sementara
itu tetamu-tetamu kehormat di Surau Berakas adalah Timbalan Pemerintah
Tentera Darat Diraja Brunei, Kol. Haji Zainal Ariffin bin Dato Paduka
Haji Ahmad; di Muara Surau adalah Timbalan Pemerintah Tentera Laut
Diraja Brunei, Kol. (L) Pg Norazmi bin Pg Mohammad dan di Dewan Punai,
Tentera Udara Diraja Brunei, Rimba ialah Timbalan Pemerintah Tentera
Udara Diraja Brunei, Kol. (U) Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat. Manakala di
surau-surau di Penanjong, Pengiran Ratna Indera Tutong, Perkhemahan
Lumut, Sekolah Pegawai Kadet, Pulau Baru-Baru dan Bangar diwakili oleh
pegawai-pegawai kanan masing-masing.
Majlis
yang turut dihadiri oleh pegawai serta anggota tentera dan awam
Kementerian Pertahanan dan ABDB ini diharap dapat mengukuhkan lagi
hubungan silaturrahim sesama mereka.
