BERAKAS, Tuesday 19 April 2011 – More than 100 officials representing more than 60 companies attended the Brunei Darussalam International Tattoo (BIT 2011) Promotion Day today held at the Indoor Stadium, Hassanal Bolkiah Sports Complex Arena.
The event was organized as part of BIT 2011 promotional activity and also to convey the organiser’s appreciation towards the contributing agencies.
In the welcoming speech delivered by the BIT 2011 Chairman, Colonel (U) Hj Jofri bin Hj Abdullah, he mentioned on the significance of contributions from private companies and other government agencies towards the successes and achievements of the previous BIT2006. He said that, “…it will not be possible without the support of other government agencies and private sectors who had contributed to the unforgettable experience in terms of manpower, ideas, in-kind or even monetary contributions..”. On another note, he also declared that Telbru will be the Official Broadband Provider for BIT 2011.
Those invited includes Chief Executive Officers (CEOs), Managing Directors, and representatives from government ministries and agencies such as the Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB), TelBru, B-Mobile to name a few. Following the welcoming speech, those in attendance were then presented with a short video clip showcasing ‘the making of BIT 2011’ followed by a sneak preview performance by the Royal Brunei Armed Forces military band specially orchestrated for the event.
The last military tattoo was previously held in 2006 at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in commemoration of the His Majesty, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam 60th Birthday Celebrations. That special event was documented in the Guinness Book of World Records for most countries participating in a military tattoo. Whereas this year, the showcase will still be filled with breathtaking and spectacular event, though will not overshadow the majestic’s of the previous military tattoo.
The selling of BIT 2011 tickets will start from 1st May 2011 onwards, primarily at the Indoor stadium Main Entrance, Kadai Telbru in The Mall Gadong and also the rest of the TelBru Main Office branches in Kuala Belait, Tutong and Temburong Districts.
