BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Friday 1 July 2011 – A local personnel from Gurkha Reserve Unit (GRU), SG No. 0284 SG Azlanie Jaman Anak Mambang, C Company has converted to Islam on an official ceremony held at Prayer Room, Sungai Akar Camp, this afternoon.
Awang Azlanie Jaman chose his Islamic name as Mohamad Qayyum bin Abdullah Jaman. Mean while one of the GRU local lady personnel 0003 LCpl Hertini bte Juli also converted to Islam on Saturday, 25 June 2011 at Islamic Da’wah Islamiah, Pulaie and now known as Dyg Nur Zara Ayuni bte Abdullah Juli.
Present at the ceremony as guest of honour was the Permanent Secretary for Defence Policy and Development, MINDEF, Haji Awang Saifulbahri bin Haji Awang Mansor. The ceremony began with the recital of Al-Quran by 16982 LCpl Harun Al-Rashid bin Hj Mohd. Hussin. The ceremony was then followed by a talk on ‘Israk Mikraj’ delivered by Ustaz Pengiran Haji Merali bin Pengiran Haji Ismail, from the Islamic Da’wah Centre, Pulaie. The pledge of Islam by Awang Azlanie Jaman was carried out in front of the officers of the Islamic Da’wah Centre, Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Also present to witness the religious event was Senior Officer from the Ministry and Da’wah Islamiyah Unit and family members of the newly convert as well as Muslim GRU personnel and civilian staffs.
The ceremony was also highlighted with the recital of ‘Dikir Asrakal’ followed by the presentation of gift to the newly converts by the guest of honour. The ceremony ended with a ‘Doa Selamat’ by Ustaz Haji Sufri bin Jumaat, GRU Religious Teacher.
When interviewed, both of them express their sincere feelings and gratitude to Allah Almighty for giving them the guidance and ‘hidayah’ to choose Islam as their path of life.
ANGGOTA TEMPATAN PSG MEMELUK AGAMA ISLAM

– Seorang anggota Pasukan Simpanan Gurkha (PSG) iaitu SG No. 0284 SG
Azlanie Jaman Anak Mambang, C Kompeni telah memeluk agama Islam di Bilik
Ibadat, PSG, Perkhemahan Sungai Akar, petang tadi. Awang Azlanie Jaman
memilih nama Islam beliau yang kini dikenali sebagai Mohamad Qayyum bin
Abdullah Jaman.
Manakala
seorang lagi anggota PSG wanita yang diraikan bersama iaitu 0003 LKpl
Hertini bte Juli. Beliau telah pun memeluk agama Islam pada hari Sabtu,
25 Jun 2011 di Pusat Da’awah Islamiah, Pulaie dan kini dikenali sebagai
Dyg Nur Zara Ayuni bte Abdullah Juli.
Hadir di majlis tersebut selaku Tetamu Kehormat ialah
Setiausaha Tetap, Dasar Pertahanan dan Pembangunan, Kementerian
Pertahanan Yang Mulia Haji Awang Saifulbahri bin Haji Awang Mansor.
Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan ayat-ayat suci Al-Quran oleh 16982 LKpl
Harun Al-Rashid bin Hj Mohd. Hussin. Acara diselanjurkan dengan ceramah
Israk Mikraj yang disampaikan oleh Ustaz Pengiran Hj Merali bin Pengiran
Haji Ismail, daripada Pusat Da’wah Islamiah, Pulaie. Lafaz pengakuan
memeluk agama Islam oleh Awang Azlanie telah dilakukan dihadapan
pegawai-pegawai Pusat Da’awah Islamiyah, Kementerian Hal Ehwal Ugama.
Turut hadir di majlis yang berkebajikan tersebut ialah
Pegawai-Pegawai Kanan dari Kementerian Pertahanan dan Pusat Da’wah
Islamiyah, ahli-ahli keluarga yang diraikan serta anggota-anggota PSG
dan kakitangan awam yang berugama Islam.
Majlis diserikan lagi dengan Zikir Asrakal serta penyampaian
cenderahati kepada saudara-saudara baru yang telah disempurnakan oleh
Tetamu Kehormat. Majlis diakhiri dengan bacaan Doa Selamat oleh Ustaz
Haji Sufri bin Jumaat, Guru Ugama PSG.
Kedua-dua saudara baru menyatakan rasa syukur kehadrat Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala kerana memberikan mereka petunjuk serta hidayah
untuk memilih Ugama Islam sebagai panduan hidup.
