RIMBA AIR BASE, Friday 6 Dec 2013 – The Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) has successfully organized the Air Display event in conjunction with the 4th BRIDEX 2013. The event took place from 2nd Dec – 6 Dec 2013 where 3 days were open to Public.
The Air Display event presents aircrafts from the Alap-Alap PC7 of the RBAirF, Osprey from the United States Marine Corps (USMC), The Jupiter Aerobatic Team, KT1-Woongbi from Tentera Nasional Indonesia Angkatan Udara (TNI AU) and The F15 from Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) showing their aerobatic skills and flares on the shore of BRIDEX Centre.
Meanwhile, the Aircraft Static Display was held in the afternoon at Rimba Air Base, where it has attracted more than 10,000 people coming to see various kinds of aircrafts from light and heavy aircrafts as well as jet fighters. Also in this event was the Royal Thai Air force (RTAF) displaying their SAAB-Gripen, the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) displaying SUKHOI fighter, CN295 and CN235 from TNI AU and TNI AL and the gigantic C17 and C130 from the USMC and the US Air Force (USAF).
This event has somehow projected a positive influence towards the youth in venturing the world of military aviation. On the last day of event, a group photo was taken with the Commander of the RBAF, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin with all the participating nations.
The Commander also gave his sincere gratitude to all the participants in contributing towards the success of this event and looking forward for the next Air Display event in 2015. Also present during the photo session was Brigadier General (U) Haji Wardi bin Haji Abd Latip, the Commander of the RBAirF.
