BOLKIAH GARRISON, Saturday 13 January 2013 – The Ministry of Defence and Royal Brunei Armed Forces held a Dzikir ceremony to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. This event marks the opening of Dzikir which will be held every night until the 23 January 2013, 12 Rabiulawal 1434H.

The event last night was held at Ministry of Defence Surau. Present as the Guest of Honour was Dato Paduka Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat, Deputy Minister of Defence.

Also in attendance were the Commander of RBAF, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Permanent Secretary, Deputy Commander of RBAF, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, Military and Civilian Directors, Senior Officers, Officers and staffs of the Ministry of Defence and RBAF.

The ceremony began with the recital verses of Al-Quran, by SSgt (L) Aliuddin bin Haji Serbini, who will be representing RBAF in a Quran Competition in Iran later this month. This was followed by the mass Maghrib prayer and the reading of Dzikir Assalamualaika and Marhaban. The event ended with the mass Isya’ prayer and ‘doa’.
