MUARA, Wednesday 6 February 2013 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) today welcomed a visit by the Commander of United States Command (USPACOM), Admiral Samuel J. Locklear III with delegation at RBN Headquarters.

Upon arrival at Royal Brunei Navy headquarters, Admiral Samuel J. Locklear III was accorded with a Guard of Honour mounted by personnel from the Royal Brunei Navy. After reviewing the Guard of Honour, Admiral Samuel J. Locklear III proceeded to pay a courtesy call to First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Halim bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Commander of Royal Brunei Navy.

Admiral Samuel J. Locklear III was accompanied by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Brunei Darussalam, His Excellency Daniel Luke Shields. Also present were the Deputy Commander of RBN and RBN senior officers.

During the call, both sides also had the opportunity to exchange views on the current development between both navies and to explore areas of naval cooperation. Admiral Samuel J. Locklear III and spouse, as well as delegates will be in Brunei Darussalam for a three-day introductory visit.
