PENANJONG GARRISON, Friday 1 March 2013 – One hundred and twenty three male recruits of the 147th intake concluded their 25-week basic military training (BMT) this morning at the Parade Square of the Training Institute Royal Brunei Armed Forces (TI RBAF) in Penanjong Garrison.
The guest of honour who received the Officer Salute during this morning’s event was Awang Haji Mohd ’Abdoh bin Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Salam, Permanent Secretary (Corporate Affairs Division and Civil Administration) at Prime Minister’s Office.
At the ceremony, Awang Haji Mohd ’Abdoh inspected the parade and delivered a speech. The ceremony also saw the presentation of awards to instructors and recruits who demonstrated excellent skills in various aspects during the training.
The award for Best Overall Recruit 50195 Recruit Shukry bin Emran; Best in M16A2 Rifle 50164 Recruit Mustaqim bin Haji Yahya; Best in Physical Training 50177 Recruit Abdul Sakhawi bin Sani; Best in Heavy Barell Automatic Rifle (HBAR) 50128 Recruit Muhd Safwan bin Haji Abu Bakar and Best in Academic Knowledge 20103 Recruit Muhd Shah Nurizal bin Haji Mat Serudin.
Also awarded were Best Platoon Sergeant went to 14801 Sjn Khairul bin Haji Abdul Rahman and awards for Best Male Instructor went to 15586 Cpl Mohd Ramzul bin Awang Haji Sahat.
Also present were Commander of the RBAF, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Deputy Commander of RBAF, Service Commanders, Commandants, Senior officers, officers and other ranks of RBAF as well as families of the recruits.
