SG AKAR CAMP, Friday 12 July 2013 – A handing over ceremony at the Officer Cadet School Parade Square saw the official appointment of Colonel Haji Abd Hadi bin Haji Saim as the new Commandant of the Defence Academy.

Upon the arrival of Colonel Pengiran Haji Maiddin bin Pengiran Haji Said, the former Commandant of the Defence Academy, the ceremony started off with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by RBAF Religious Department (JA’MAAT).

The ceremony then continued with a parade inspection by the former Commandant of Defence Academy. The parade consisted of the current PROMEX students, Officer cadets and staff from OCS and personnel from Defence Academy.

The ceremony then proceeded with the signing of Handing Over Certificate between Colonel Haji Abd Hadi bin Haji Saim and Colonel Pengiran Haji Maiddin bin Pengiran Haji Said.

A speech was given by the new Commandant of the Defence Academy where he emphasised on leadership and to promote healthy competition, to take the extra mile and to think out of the box using contextual intelligence in order to produce the high quality officers. The ceremony ended with the recitation of doa to bless the event.
