UNITED KINGDOM, Friday 19 July 2013 – The Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force, Brigadier General (U) Haji Wardi bin Haji Abdul Latip, attended the Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) 2013 on 19 July 2013.
‘SkyGuardian’ was the theme for this year’s event, which was carried out from the 17 to 22 July 2013. It aims to show the role that both military and civilian aircraft plays in protecting and supporting people on the ground. Amongst aircraft on show were the A400M, C130, C-27J Spartan, Euro Fighter 2000, Apaches and Vulcan B2. Aerobatic teams were also present and made a mark impact at the show, namely the Italian Air Force Frecce Tricolori with 10 MB339PAN aircraft and the Red Arrows with 11 Hawk T1/1A aircraft.
Amongst the programme outlined includes all the invited Chiefs of Air Force and representatives’ visit to the RAF Valley, where a briefing and visit on the training environment and facilities were provided.
Before ending the trip at RIAT, Brigadier General (U) Haji Wardi also had the opportunity to meet Air Chief Marshal Sir Andrew D Pulford, the Incoming Chief of Air Staff, RAF United Kingdom. The interaction has provided an opportunity to highlight the good relationship and cooperation that have been provided between the two air forces.
