MALAYSIA, Tuesday 24 Sept 2013 – In effort to further strengthen the bilateral ties between Brunei and Malaysia, Brigadier General (U) Haji Wardi bin Haji Abdul Latip, the Commander of the RBAirF accepted the invitation from the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) to pay an introductory visit to Malaysia from 22 to 24 September 2013.

During the visit, the RBAirF Commander was given the honour to receive the RMAF Honorary Pilot Wings, which were presented by the General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Rodzali bin Daud RMAF, the Chief of RMAF at Ministry of Defence, Malaysia. The Honorary Pilot Wings presentation was awarded to the RBAirF Commander to signify his contribution and commitment in further enhancing the already strong and long-standing defence relationship between Malaysia and Brunei at air force level.

The official visit programme to the RMAF began with the working visit to No 10 Sqn Kuantan Air Base. Subquently, the programme continued with the RBAirF Commander paying a courtesy call to the Chief Of Defence Force of the Malaysian Armed Forces, General Tan Sri Zulkifeli bin Mohd. Zin and to the the RMAF Chief of Air Force.

The visit by the RBAirF Commander to Malaysia highlights the deep-rooted and continuing bond between both countries especially at the air force level. This strong defence relationship has been shown regularly through the professional exchanges and bilateral exercises between the RMAF and the RBAirF. It is these interactions that have strengthened the mutual friendship and international cooperation between the two air forces.
