BOLKIAH GARRISON, Thursday 24 Oct 2013 – Fifteen officers from the Directorate of Finance and Acquisition (DFA), Directorate of Works and Services (DDWS), Directorate of ForceCapability and Development (DFCD) and Centre of Science, Technology, Research and Development (CSTRAD) were presented with their certificates of Contract Management course on the 24th October 2013 held at the Strategic Library.

The closing ceremony was graced by the Director of CSTRAD, Col (L) Muzri bin Mokhsin as the guest of honour.

In his closing speech, the guest of honour remarked that the key driver to a success in Contract Management is in knowledgeable human resource. He reminded the participants the importance of practising what they have learned and in maintaining the bond between the participants to ensure close communication and coordinationcan be kept leading to successful implementation of any projects. He further reiterated that in Procurement, it is essential to ensure transparency and advised the participants to always look for improvement to attain Value for Money towards the betterment of the Ministry and the Government.

The course was conducted for 8 days and facilitated by the esteemed Singapore Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management (SIPMM). The course aims to enhance knowledge and understandings amongst the officers on the key elements and success of Contract Management from Post-Contract phase, Contract phase and Post-Contract phase. The participants were also tested orally for individual and group negotiation skills and presentations skills and written examination in order to complete the course leading to the award of the Certificate in Contract Management.
