BANGKOK, THAILAND 15 August 2013 – Colonel Dato Paduka Haji Harith bin Haji Abdul Karim, Commanding Officer, Special Forces Regiment was awarded the Honorary Parachutist Badge by the Royal Thai Army Special Warfare Command in a ceremony held at the Special Warfare Command Headquarters in Lopburi.

The Honorary Parachutist Badge was presented to Colonel Dato Paduka Haji Harith bin Haji Abdul Karim by Lieutenant General Chalermchai Sitthisad, Commanding General of Special Warfare Command, Royal Thai Army. The award was presented in commemoration of the close cooperation and friendship between the two countries, in particular between the Special Forces Regiment, Royal Brunei Armed Forces and The Royal Thai Army Special Forces.

The Commanding Officer of Special Forces Regiment was in Thailand from 12 to 16 August 2013. He also made a courtesy call to Major General Apichai Hongthong, Commanding General of Infantry Training Centre, Royal Thai Army on 13 August at Fort Thanarat, Prachuabkirikhan. He also attended the Ranger Course Class 111th Graduation Ceremony of a member of the Special Forces Regiment, Royal Brunei Armed Forces as the First Thai Foreign Ranger from Infantry Training Centre and Brunei Darussalam’s first qualified Ranger.  He was also invited to present graduation certificates, together with the Commanding General, to qualified members of the Ranger Course Class 111th.
