KG TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 11 December 2015 – The Closing Ceremony for the Junior Staff Course (JSC) 2015 was held at the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Kampong Tanah Jambu this morning. Present as the Guest of Honour was Brigadier General Pg Dato Seri Pahlawan Aminan bin Pg Haji Mahmud, Acting Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
Apart from presenting certificates, the Guest of Honour also presented awards to those who have excelled in the course. The Overall Best Student as well as the Best Research Essay was awarded to 821 Captain (U) Wan Muhd Azem bin Haji Muhd Aminuddin whereas the Best Service Paper went to 816 Captain Hjh Norul Hafidzah binti Haji Muhammad.
The 14 weeks course had begun on 7 September 2015. It was an essential course for mid-level officers to improve their overall military knowledge through outlined course programmes with focus on professional knowledge, leadership and management, communication skills and operational planning. All students, local and international, are looking forward to fulfilling their potential as capably confident staff officers back in their own units.
There were 26 participants which includes 19 officers from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, an officer from the Royal Brunei Police Force and 6 international students from Republic of Indonesia, Malaysia, Republic of the Philippines, Republic of Singapore, Kingdom of Thailand and Socialist Republic of Vietnam respectively.
Also present at the Closing Ceremony were the Services Commanders, Directors, Senior Royal Brunei Armed Forces Officers, Defence Attaches and Advisers, and Staff of the Defence Academy.
