BOLKIAH GARRISON, Monday, 7 December 2015 – The Acting Minister of Defence, First Admiral (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit received a call from the Australian Defence Adviser accredited to Brunei Darussalam, Group Captain Phillip Lavelle this afternoon.

Group Captain Lavelle, who was in Brunei for his farewell visit, was accompanied by his successor, Colonel David John Hay, whom will begin his posting from 9 December 2015.

Brunei and Australia have close and long-standing defence relations where the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and the Australian Defence Force regularly interact through professional exchanges, trainings and courses, and bilateral exercises across all three services. These interactions have strengthened the friendship and enhanced the professionalism of the two armed forces.
