BOLKIAH GARRISON, Thursday 27 August 2015 – A blessing ceremony was held today for the departure of RBAF personnel participated in the 12th International Monitoring Team (IMT) in Mindanao, Republic of the Philippines and RBAF peacekeepers of the United Nations Interim Force (UNIFIL) in Lebanon.
The 12th IMT contingent led by Lt Colonel Azman bin Haji Bangkol comprised of 6 RBAF personnel and one Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) personnel.
While twenty-nine RBAF personnel led by Captain Mohd Faizi bin Haji Tarif will be embedded in the Malaysian Battalion 850-3 (MALBATT 850-3) prior to their deployment in Lebanon to conduct peacekeeping duties under Malaysian contingent.
The blessing ceremony was held at the Ministry of Defence Surau in Bolkiah Garrison was attended by Commander of RBAF, Yang Dimluiakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah.
Also in attendance were members of Defence Executive Committee, Service Commanders and Commandants, Directors and officers of the Ministry of Defence and RBAF.
The event began with the reading of Al-Quran followed by recital of surah Yassin, performing mass Zohor prayers and doa selamat to mark the end of the ceremony.
