ISTANA NURUL IMAN, Saturday 15 August 2015 – The Traditional Parade was followed by the Audience and Investiture Ceremony at the Balai Singgahsana, Istana Nurul Iman. His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam, consented to attend the ceremony.
Present were His Majesty’s children and siblings, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab-Rahaman, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah and Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Bini Hajah Faizah; His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik; His Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Rabi’atul Adawiyyah; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen; His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Muta-Wakkilah Hayatul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah; Her Royal Highness Princess ‘Azemah Ni’matul Bolkiah and Her Royal Highness Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah.
Also in attendance were Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Nor’ain; and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam, as well as other members of the Royal Family.
Also present were His Majesty’s special guests including His Excellency Tun Dato Laila Utama Pehin Sri Doctor Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud, Yang Di-Pertua of Negeri Sarawak and wife; Yang Amat Berhormat Dato Seri Paduka Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Musa bin Haji Aman, Chief Minister of Sabah and wife; The Honourable Mr. Lawrence Wong, Minister of Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Communication and Information of Singapore; The Honourable, Manuel ‘Mar’ Araneta Roxas the Second, Secretary of the Interior and Local Government of the Republic of the Philippines; Yang Berhormat Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah bin Ali Hasan, Second Minister of Resource Planning and Environment and Minister of Industrial Development of Sarawak and wife.
In the titah, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam says that every time the world changes or develops, it is felt by everyone including Brunei Darussalam. This is because it is part of the world. The changes, adds His Majesty, cover socio-politics, socio-economy and socio-culture.
At the ceremony, 16 persons were conferred with the Brunei Darussalam State Decorations. His Majesty first consented to confer Darjah Pahlawan Negara Brunei Yang Amat Perkasa (First Class), P.S.P.N.B that carries the title of Dato Seri Pahlawan to four recipients. They are Deputy Commissioner of Police Awang Haji Mohd Jammy bin Haji Mohd Shah Al-Islam; Commander of Royal Brunei Land Force, Brigadier General Pg Dato Paduka Aminan bin Pg Haji Mahmud; Commander of Royal Brunei Navy, First Admiral Pg Norazmi bin Pg Haji Muhammad and Joint Force Commander, Brigadier General (U) Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat.
Two recipients were conferred the Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei Yang Amat Mulia Second Class, D.P.M.B which carries the title Dato Paduka. The recipients were the Imam of Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque, Yand Dimuliakan Pehin Khatib Haji Suhaili bin Haji Metali Al–Hafiz and Penghulu of Mukim Peramu, Pengarah Awang Haji Ismit bin Pengarah Mukim Haji Naim.
Three recipients were conferred the Darjah Seri Ugama Islam Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bersinar Third Class, S.S.U.B and seven recipients were conferred Darjah Setia Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bahagia Third Class, S.N.B.
The Doa Selamat was read by the State Mufti, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Dr Ustaz Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Juned.
Also present were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria, Cabinet Ministers, Members of Councils, Deputy Ministers, Pengiran-Pengiran Peranakan, Pehin-Pehin Manteri, Manteri-Manteri Pedalaman, Ambassadors, High Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Departments.
