REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE, Thursday, 11 June 2015 - First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, Deputy Commander Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) was conferred Singapore’s prestigious military award, the
Pingat Jasa Gemilang (Tentera) or the Meritorious Service Medal (Military), by Dr Ng Eng Hen, the Minister of Defence Singapore.
The event was held at the Ministry of Defence, Republic of Singapore this morning.
Deputy Commander of RBAF received the award for his valuable contributions and outstanding service in promoting the strong defence relationship and longstanding cooperation shared between the Royal Brunei Navy and the Republic of Singapore Navy during his tenure as the Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy. Under Dato’s leadership and personal guidance, the relationship between the Royal Brunei Navy and the Republic of Singapore Navy was further strengthened through a wide range of bilateral activities and professional exchanges between the two navies.
As part of his visit, Deputy Commander of RBAF also made separate courtesy calls to the Minister of Defence Singapore, and Rear Admiral Lai Chung Han, Chief of the Republic of Singapore Navy at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters.
