BOLKIAH GARISON, Thursday 23 April 2015 – In line with the directorate’s vision – ‘Quality, Sustainability and Green Infrastructure’, Directorate of Development and Work Services (DDWS) has successfully conform to the certification of ISO 9001:2008 ‘Quality Management System’ after a Surveillance Audit an auditor from Bureau Veritas (Brunei) conducted on two separate dates 20 & 23 April 2015.
The Surveillance Audit scope are as follows:-
1) Management & Implementation of Mindef Projects
2) Maintenance Management of Mindef Estates
3) General Administration of DDWS
4) Management of Budget for DDWS
Surveillance Audit Objectives are
1) To confirm that the management system conforms with all the requirements of the audit standard(s);
2) To confirm that the DDWS has effectively implemented its planned arrangements;
3) To confirm that the management system is capable of achieving the DDWS’s policies and objectives and evaluation of the ability of the management system to ensure DDWS organization meets applicable statutory, regulatory and contractual requirements;
4) If applicable to identify areas for potential improvement of the management system.
Day 1 – 20 April 2015 – the Surveillance Audit covers
a) Management Review
b) Estate Maintenance Section Headquarters (EMS HQ) , Bolkiah Garrison
c) Estate Maintenance Section – Penanjong Garrison
Day 2 – 23 April 2015 – the Surveillance Audit covers
a) Estate Maintenance Section – Lumut Camp
b) Estate Maintenance Section – Tutong Camp
Several preparations had been taken by DDWS such as conducting internal audits before the external audit is conducted. This is to ensure that the management system practiced by officers and staffs in carrying out their duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Brunei Darussalam ISO 9001:2008 Standard.
With all the preparations made by the officers and personnel and also consultant’s guidance, this directorate has successfully able to achieve and maintain its conformity and effectiveness in the implementation of the Quality Management System in compliance with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2008 standard for multi-site certification.
