BOLKIAH GARISON, Tuesday 21 April 2015 – The ACAT Meeting for WY 2015/2016 was held at the Officer’s Mess, Bolkiah Garrison, Ministry of Defence. The meeting, which is part of an ongoing effort to further strengthen the relationship between Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) was co-chaired by Colonel (L) Haji Aznan bin Haji Julaihi, Director of Personnel, RBAF and by Colonel Ng Ying Thong, Assistance Chief of the General Staff (Training), SAF.
The agenda of the meeting highlighted the courses offered and followed by the discussion of SAF-RBAF Bilateral Exercises. The meeting further includes Professional Exchanges, Programmes and other activities.
Apart from strengthening the relationship between the two parties involved, this meeting was also aimed at encouraging the enhancement and development of knowledge, skills and experiences from different leadership skills and technologies. Subsequently the meeting was also held to promote the exchange of information between the two countries by engaging in Direct Cooperation, as well as to look for current and new technology in enhancing the Defence Security and increasing the overall effectiveness of operations.
Over the years, the strong ties, growing mutual trust and continued cooperation between SAF and RBAF has acted as the basis for the joint diplomatic efforts between Singapore and Brunei. This meeting is an ideal platform for the Defence authorities of both countries to communicate and share their views and ideas, and to develop and strengthen confidence-building measures and cooperation. In the near future it is hoped that the cooperation developed will serve as a foundation to prepare for interoperability and harder-edges collaborative operations.
As a conclusion, the Training, Bilateral Exercises and Professional Exchanges Programmes are all important tools to not only improve individual skill sets but also as a whole across the two countries.
MESYUARAT ANNUAL ALLOCATION AND TRAINING MEETING (ACAT) 2015/2016 DIANTARA ABRS DAN ABDB

– Mesyuarat ACAT bagi tahun 2015/2016 telah diadakan di Mes Pegawai
Kementerian Pertahanan, Bolkiah Garison. Mesyuarat tersebut adalah
sebahagian daripada usaha berterusan bagi mengeratkan lagi hubungan
antara Angkatan Bersenjata Republik Singapura (ABRS) dan Angkatan
Bersenjata Diraja Brunei (ABDB).
Inisiatif
tersebut dipengerusikan bersama oleh Kolonel (L) Haji Aznan bin Haji
Julaihi, Pengarah Keanggotaan, ABDB dan Kolonel Ng Ying Thong, Ketua
Turus (Latihan), SAF.
Agenda
mesyuarat merangkumi peruntukan kursus yang ditawarkan disepanjang
tahun 2015/2016 dan juga perbincangan mengenai Eksesais Dua-hala
diantara ABRS dan ABDB. Selain itu mesyuarat tersebut juga mengandungi
perbincangan mengenai Pertukaran Professional, Program dan aktiviti
pertahanan.
Selain
dari mengeratkan hubungan antara dua pihak, mesyuarat ini juga
bertujuan untuk meningkatkan dan meluaskan pengetahuan, kemahiran dan
pengalaman. Ianya juga bertujuan untuk melibatkan diri secara langsung
dengan Kerjasama Pertahanan antara dua Negara dalam pertukaran maklumat.
Selain daripada itu mesyuarat ini juga dihasratkan akan menjadi asas
bagi menguasai teknologi semasa bagi meningkatkan keselamatan pertahanan
dan keberkesanan operasi.
Hubungan
diantara ABRS dan ABDB semakin kukuh terutama dari segi hubungan,
kepercayaan dan kerjasama yang berterusan. Kesimpulannya, dengan adanya
peluang menghadiri kursus, Latihan Dua Hala dan Pertukaran Program,
kedua belah pihak dapat mengambil manfaat dari segi peningkatan tahap
kemahiran individu secara berterusan bagi jangka masa pendek dan akan
datang.
