MALAYSIA, LANGKAWI, Tuesday 17 March 2015 –The ASEAN Defence Ministers had a joint call with the Honourable Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia, today at Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre, Langkawi, Malaysia.
The joint call was held in conjunction with the 9th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (9th ADMM) on 16 March 2015, as well as the opening ceremony of the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA’15), held earlier this morning.
Representing His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzadin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to the 9th ADMM was Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Awang Haji Mohd Yasmin Haji Umar, Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Bilateral meetings were also held the day before between Brunei Darussalam and Singapore, Indonesia and Lao PDR, discussing the growth and development of the ADMM since its inception in 2006, as well as the growing bilateral defence relations between the defence establishments.
