INDONESIA, Thursday 5 March 2015 – The Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit and spouse Datin Sakdiah bte Haji Mohd Noor arrived in Jakarta on 5 March 2015 for a three days farewell visit.
The RBN Commander made a farewell call to His Excellency General TNI (Pum) Ryamizard Ryacudu, Minister of Defence and the Chief of Navy TNI-AL, Admiral Ade Supandi. Upon arrival at Markas Besar TNI-AL Cilangkap, Jakarta, First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz inspected the Guard of Honour before proceeding to the farewell courtesy call.
During the call, achievements from past bilateral issues, training exercises and new initiatives as well as various steps were discussed to further improve the defence cooperation between both navies in the future.
On the following day, the Commander RBN has also had the opportunity to call upon His Excellency General TNI (Pum) Ryamizard Ryacudu, Minister of Defence, during the call, both acknowledged the strong defence partnership and long-standing friendship between Brunei Darussalam and Republic of Indonesia, and reaffirmed their commitment to continue to enhance close ties.
The three days visit also encompasses interaction programmes between RBN delegation and TNI-AL senior officers. This visit reflects the spirit of friendship not only between both navies, but also between Brunei Darussalam and Republic of Indonesia.
